Under the guidance and supervision of His Excellency President Masoud Barzani and the patronage of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, the University of Duhok is honored to host “The 5th International Scientific Conference on the Genocide of the Kurdish People” on October 28-29, 2025, at its Convention Center.
This conference represents a unified scientific effort to elevate the cause of the Kurdish genocide from the stage of local remembrance to that of pursuing international recognition. The primary objective is to build a robust scientific foundation through the scientific documentation of genocidal crimes, their analysis within the framework of forensic science, and the advancement of the legal frameworks necessary to achieve justice and ensure legal accountability.
The conference will serve as a crucial platform, convening a distinguished gathering of international and local experts in the fields of law, forensic science, history, psychology, media, and political science. Over two days, a series of specialized scientific panels, keynote speeches by high-profile figures, and a photographic and documentary exhibition on the genocide will be presented.
In essence, this conference is more than an academic event; it is a bridge between memory and the future, an effort to preserve historical truth and transfer it to new generations, and a commitment to ensuring that justice is served and that such crimes are never repeated. It is a shared national and human responsibility.
